The ham radio event was held at the Ogle Co. Airport on June 25 & 26, 2022. Approximately 25 patrons visited and/or participated in the 24hr event. License testing was also conducted which 3 individuals received a license upgrade and 1 person is now a new licensee!
Thank you OCPI board member, Jon Bargren, for getting a sign designed to inform everyone now that the July 4th breakfast is going to be held this year! Those who pass or stop by the airport will see the sign located near the road.

April 4, 2022 ~ The Ogle County Pilots, Inc (OCPI) held their April board meeting last night at the club house at the Ogle Co. Airport.
There was a big turn out of members (and some potential future members)!!! The positive attitudes and enthusiasm from everyone made for a very productive meeting and voices were heard and ideas shared! OCPI meetings are open to the public for anyone wishing to attend. The next OCPI board meeting will be held Monday, May 2, 2022. Minutes from the April 4th meeting will be posted in the near future and can be located under the OCPI tab. |
New Airport Manager Appointed!
At the January 3, 2022 OCPI meeting, a new airport manager was voted and appointed for the Ogle County Airport. Congratulations to Tj Graden as he is officially now the airport manager! Mr. Graden has been an active member of OCPI for the past several years and replaces long time manager Doug Schiller, who chose to retire from the position after 20+ years. January 18, 2022 ~ There was some action at the airport this evening around 10:00pm. A medical helicopter made a landing at the airport to pick up and transport a hurt individual. Keep the individual in your thoughts.
July 7, 2020 ~ A Super Cub experimental airplane, flown by a 29 year old female pilot, had to make an emergency landing at the Ogle County Airport due to lose of hydraulics. The aircraft landed wheels up. No injuries were reported.
At the Ogle County Airport, we are fortunate to have a variety of aircraft utilize the facility. An ultralight decided to visit in the evening on Sun, July 5th.
The Mercyhealth REACT helicopter landed at the Ogle Co. Airport this morning (6/30/2020) to pick up and airlift an individual who was involved in an accident at a facility in Mt. Morris today. Prayers going to the person who was injured. Thank you Joe Garinger for capturing these pictures of the helicopter and those medical heros in action!
Young Eagle / Eagle Event Day a Success!

We had three OCPI pilots who gave a total of fifteen airplane rides to both kids and adults on Saturday, June 6th.
The weather was perfect for flying and those who went up got to see a beautiful view!
